Scripture: Matthew 22:37 (NIV)
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
December often brings a full calendar and heightened expectations. Even in the midst of loss, many women feel pressure to keep going, to show up for others, and to hold everything together. Yet in quieter moments, the soul may feel weary, tender, or in need of deep care.
Caring for your soul is not indulgent—it is a spiritual act. Jesus reminds us that loving God involves our whole being, including our hearts and souls. When we tend to our spiritual health, we create space for healing, restoration, and renewed strength. Soul care invites us to slow down and listen to what God is doing within us.
Self-care for the soul may look simple and unremarkable: time in prayer, moments of stillness, reading Scripture slowly, or allowing yourself to rest without guilt. These practices are not signs of weakness; they are acts of trust. In seasons of grief or transition, they become sacred rhythms that nourish the heart.
December can be a month of reflection rather than exhaustion. By choosing rest, prayer, and intentional moments with God, we allow Him to tend to the deeper places that often go unnoticed. Spiritual self-care helps us reconnect with God’s presence and reminds us that we are held, even when life feels uncertain.
As you move through this season, give yourself permission to care for your soul. You do not have to do everything or be everything. God meets you in quiet spaces, restoring peace and gently renewing your strength.
Prayer
Lord, help me care for my soul. Teach me to slow down, rest in Your presence, and nurture my spiritual health as I walk with You through this season. Amen.
